Many of you know our interior design direction over the last 18 months has been to a more contemporary and modern European styled interior while maintaining the classic exterior styling and benefits of our semi-displacement hull design and walk around decks. During a visit to the Cobalt Boats factory in August I met Patrizio who has been doing some new design work for Cobalt and we got talking about Clipper and where we were heading with our new models and my desire to be the first “trawler” brand to offer that very cutting edge internal fit and finish that you traditionally see in European Imported motor Yachts.
Patrizio has a passion for our more “classic” style of yachts and got very excited by what I was trying to achieve but had not really found the right designer or studio to partner with us.
To cut a long story short we agreed to look into working together and within a month or two we had design briefs, sketches and had started on our journey together, the evidence of this will be seen in our 2017 Hudson Bay 540, 390 and 470 models when they arrive here as the finishes, styling and overall interior look will be all managed by Facheris Design. Here are some of the sketches, exterior porthole styling and new signature lower helm design that will be part of Clipper’s new DNA from 2017 onwards.
