Meet the Team: Andy Giese – Service and Commissioning

Andrew Giese: Service and Commissioning

Role and Responsibilities:  I am a Ship Wright by trade and am responsible for the commissioning, after-sales service and warranty work.

How long have you worked in marine? I have been working in the marine industry for 10 years. I started my apprenticeship at Norman Wright and Sons in 2001 and have loved the industry ever since.

When I was young I wanted to be… I have always loved the ocean and always aspired to have a career in the marine industry.

Most memorable boating experience? I was fishing off South Stradbroke Island and I hooked a pelican, I had to jump overboard swim out and rescue him… And I can advise you first-hamd, they are not as friendly as you may think!

Best piece of boating advice given? Always budget maintenance into the boat purchase of your boat. The marine environment in Australia is very harsh and to get the most enjoyment out of your dream boat, regular maintenance is a must!

Favourite boat from within the Pacific Motor Yacht range, and why? This has to be the Clipper 50 Hudson Bay. It is sporty, modern, spacious and I can just imagine waking up, looking out of the triple hull windows at paradise.

Describe yourself in 3 words? Reliable, Honest and Deductive.

If I could travel to anywhere in the world on my Hudons Bay 50, it would it be… After seeing the photos which Brian and Jill (our proud Clipper owners) have shown me, it would have to be The Kimberlys – without a doubt.
